Male’, MALDIVES – Victory’s top striker, Mohammed Umair never thought that he would be able to top the goal scoring chart. Umair is leveled with Ali Ashfaq at the top of the goal scorers with 23 goals each. Umair will have three matches if Victory moves into the finals of the FA Cup while Ashfaq has one match remaining.
“I never thought that I would top the goal scoring chart. It is not just my effort; it is a team effort that I am able to score goals”
Umair also believes that his team players were a bit careless in the matches between the two clubs this season. New Radiant has won three matches and managed a draw in the matches between the two teams so far in the season.
“I think we have a better squad compared to New Radiant. We could have won the games, but we were a bit careless and the mistakes cost us the game. We will correct those mistakes and fight for a win in tomorrow night’s match”
“I believe if we can concentrate well and play our game, we would be able to win the match”
Umair also urged the supporters of Victory to be present in the stadium to cheer the club.
“I ask the supporters to come and watch the game.”
The president’s cup final between New Radiant and Victory will be played tomorrow afternoon at 1550hrs.
