every year, the best coach is given for the coach who wins the dhivehi league. in my opinion, the best coach in maldives is imma. im a newradiant fan, but our football wasnt much good in the last season, but won the league due to star players magic. no coach in maldives has ever been able to hold on to the same bunch of players for like 3-4 seasons like imma does. he has transformed average players into top players, and emerging players into stars. Ismail eesa(messi), asadhulla, were good players when they didnt play for mazia too. but after joining mazia, they are now in the first eleven of the national team. this is because imma has power over players and he maintains the technica dicipline on pitch and also the players dicipline too.

On the whole, I think Umair deserves it for all the hard work he put in last year to become what he is today. Although I feel a little bad for Imran, for he is overlooked year after year. I also think Ismail Mahefooz, coach of Maziya should have been awarded coach of the year. His team did not contain the superstars of Victory and New Radiant, but he has managed to convert a number of has-beens and underachieving players into really good players, translated on the pitch with their highest ever Dhivehi League finish and a first ever trophy. I hope to see them putting on a good show in the AFC Cup, as it will also provide good international experience for their national team players.

aha aha...mohan wins the best coach award... why didn't he win it in 2011, 2010 or 2009.. last year he won it because Ashfaq, Imran and all are there.. if so new radiant's current coach will win the award next year for sure... Dhagey, imran, umair tom and all are there... Haveeru u guys have to think thrice to change the format of the best coach...... if the coach who wins the most trophies wins the award.. do u know who won the fifa ballon d'or award.. spain's del bosque wins the euro only... guardiola wins how many trophies in his term... this is bull shit.. Imma deserve the best coach award and there is no doubt about it..

for the people who question why umair got the award because victory didnt win a trophy, lets have a look at the european football, which we take an example of. messi won the spanish cup and ronaldo won the laliga. but messi had better overall performance, so the award was given to messi. we all know that there is no player like ashfaq in the whole asia and we respect him but still, to be fair, umair deserves the prize
