VB shocks Eagles to reach semi final

Male’, MALDIVES – VB Addu FC has secured a semi final spot of the ongoing Youth Championship after beating Club Eagles by 6-5 on penalty shootout after the match was leveled at 2-2 at the end of the normal time.

In the 12th minute Eagles Ibrahim Mubeen broke the deadlock from a superb shot but in the last minute of the first half Ahmed Sujau of VB Addu FC leveled the game.

In the 84th minute VB Addu FC’s Juhain Zahir took the lead for the first time but in the additional time Abdulla Sameeh Moosa leveled the game for Eagles.

In the penalty shootout VB’s Ismail Juhain Zahir, Ahmed Shujau, Adam Isham and Ibrahim Rasheed scored while Eagles Abdulla Sameed Moosa, Yasfaadh Habeeb and Mohamed Thasmeen managed to score.

Club Valencia will face Kelaa Naalhi Club in tomorrow’s quarter final match. The match will kick off at 1605 hrs at National Stadium.
