Victory beat BG

Male’, MALDIVES – Victory Sports Club moved to the fifth position of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League table after beating BG Sports by 2-0 tonight. Viktor and Hussain Shimaz scored the two goals for the Reds.

Victory started the game very well with their three foreign players and created very good chances to score even in the first 10 minutes.

Ismail Mohamed’s shot inside the box went wide in the second minute of the game but five minutes later BG Sports captain Ahmed Ashfan hit the woodwork.

Viktor took the lead for Victory in the 36th minute from a good ball supplied by Shimaz, Viktor controlled the ball and slots it past the goalkeeper.

Three minutes after the break Awilo missed a golden opportunity to double the lead, he beats the keeper but missed the chance to score.

Hussain Shimaz doubled the lead for Victory in the 79th minute from a superb header from a free kick taken by Awilo from the right flank.

A minute before the normal time Awilo supplied another descent ball into the box but Mohamed Shauya hits the woodwork again.

In the next match of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League, Maziya will play against Mahibadhoo tomorrow night at 2200 hours.
