Victory brushes aside Mahibadhoo

Male’, MALDIVES – Victory Sports Club’s Omadu Gofrey scored a hat trick against Mahibadhoo to beat them by 5-1 today in the Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League and moved to the third position of the league table.

Victory managed to get twelve points from eight games. League leaders New Radiant got twenty points from eight games.

In the 4th minute Victory’s Ibrahim Shathir broke the deadlock from a good strike inside the box when Mahibadhoo players failed to clear the free kick.

Eight minutes later Tahi penetrated the defense line and made a good shot but hits the side net.

In the 21st minute, Qasim Samam levels the game from a wonderful shot inside the box. Keeper failed to block the shot from Qasim.

Victory took the lead for the second time in the 43rd minute from a wonderful header from Omodu inside the box.

In the 58th minute, Victory’s keeper Tholal saved the long range shot from Qasim Samaam.

Victory increased the margin in the 60th minute from a good strike from Shathir.

In the 65th minute keeper Ifham was forced to block a good shot inside the box from Ahmed Mohamed.

Victory Ahmed Niyaz scored a wonderful goal from a free kick just out side the penalty area in the 82nd minute.

A minute later Omadu completed his hat trick from a superb shot inside the box.

Maziya will play against TC Sports tonight at 2100 hours at National Football Stadium.
