Voters decided from second and third division

Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives has elected the voting clubs from the second division and third division in the extra ordinary congress of FAM to approve the new statues of the association.

In a meeting held at FAM house last night, the three clubs elected from the second division are Sports Club Mecano, Club Zefrol and United Victory. And the two teams from the third division are Redline Club and LT Sports.

There are six clubs who are eligible to compete in the second division’s primary but four clubs competed after Vyansa and AYL failed to submit necessary documents.

With the five clubs from second and third division, seven out of eight teams from the first division are eligible to vote. Mahibadhoo Sports Club will not participate since they are not a full member of FAM. According to the statues the clubs must compete in the tournaments organized by FAM for the last five years.

In this extra ordinary congress the main thing on the agenda is to approve the new statutes of FAM.

Football Association of Maldives congress will be held today at 0900 hours at Hotel Jen.
