WC2012: MBC 0 - 1 STAR: Early goal was enough

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) continued their poor form in the Women’s Championship 2012 after they were defeated by L. Gan Thudi Society for Thudi Advancement and Recreation (STAR). STAR won the match by 1 -0.

Aishath Samaa scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute of the game.

Both teams got opportunities to score in the second half. MBC got a golden chance to score in the dying minutes of the game, but the goalkeeper saved the cross into the penalty area.

STAR also got the opportunity to increase their lead in the last few minutes of the game. Their wing player tried to cross into the penalty area from edge of the six-yard box, but was brilliantly blocked by the defender.

Aishath Samaa of STAR won queen of the match.

In tomorrrow’s match Iskandhar School PTA will play against Dhivehi Sifainge Club. The match will kick off at 1625hrs at Henveiru Grounds.
