Male', MALDIVES -
In the opening game of Club Maldives Futsal Tournament, Youth ministry grabbed an unlikely but precious three points by beating defending champions Airports Company.

Youth ministry, lead by FAM’s interim committee secretary and former national team captain Shah Ismail, snatched the win by Thamooh Ahmed’s winning goal. Youth’s keeper Ahmed Ahsan kept them alive in the game and won the man of the match for his outstanding performance.

In the other game played yesterday evening, last year’s runners up Customs were handed an unlikely defeat by Island Aviation. Man of the match winner Ahmed Aiman scored the important two goals for Island Aviation and Customs failed to show anything in reply.

Four matches were played last night; Public Works beat MTCC by 5-2, Immigration beat MPA by 1-0. MPA, included national team striker Ali Ashfaag in their team list but he didn’t play any party to give his commitment to the national team’s preparation for the upcoming Lebanon game.

Civil court beat STO by 3-0, courtesy of goals from Saudhullah, Rameez and Adam Haleem.

Environment Ministry managed to find a hard fought win in their match against MIFCO, which ended 3-2.
