Male', MALDIVES: After reduced to 10 man in the very early in the first half but still too heavy to hold for the Maldives results Myanmar to take all the 3 points from their first game of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 against host Maldives.
Just few seconds in to the game, Myanmar created the first attempt but keeper Imran did well to block the shot from close range.
Two minutes later Ko Ko wasted another good scoring chance for Myanmar, it was again Imran to save the ball for Maldives with a stunning save.
In the 18th minute of the game Umair's free kick from edge of the penalty area was well saved by Myanmar goalkeeper Thu. And in next minute Thu made another good save on Amdhan's header from a corner kick.
Myanmar's defender Zaw was sent off with his second yellow card followed by a red card in the 21st minute of the game. Zaw was first cautioned for a foul on Ashfaq and later for a handle ball in his own half as he was the last defender to beat.
Ten minutes remaining in the firs half Imran was forced to make another vital save on Ko Ko's shot from inside the penalty area.
Three minutes later Ko Ko handed the lead for the visitors, Ko Ko beats his marker and swiped the lower shot in to the far bottom corner of the goal giving no chance to keeper Imran.
In the extra minutes of the first half Myanmar doubled their lead with a fine finish from Aung. After a beautiful set of play Aung calmly finish in to the goal.
Ten minute in to the second half Umair cut the defect for Maldives. Ashfaq dribbled past in to the penalty area and delivered a good pass to unmarked Umair. Umair's shot from inside the penalty area hit keeper's hand before crossing the line.
Seventy seventh minute of the game Ashfaq provided another opportunity to Fazeel (Oppo) but his shot went off the target.
Myanmar could have extended their lead in the 86th minute of the game, Ko Ko was all alone against keeper Imran but Imran win the battle and punched the ball away.
In the extra minute of the game Myanmar extended their lead to 3 - 1 with another strike from Ko Ko.
In the next minute Ashfaq scored for Maldives and made it 2 - 3 which sealed the score line to taste a heavy defeat in their first game of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 campaign.
With 2 matches played in the Group-A, Myanmar leads the Group with 3 points and goal difference to Palestine who won their first game against Kyrgyzstan.
