Better not to have too high hopes of this team doing any better than the last two tournaments. We have to accept the fact that our players fitness is not good enough in a tournament where you have to play every other day. We are at best semi-final material at our current standard. Instead India and to a certain extent Sri Lanka have taken big strides in the development of their age group players while we have been gloating about our so-called untouchable technical abilities. What is so good about technical abilities if you get drained in the first 45 minutes and have stemina of an old man. This is go down as yet another tournament our strength will come undone at the semi.

It seems coach has said for him any result would be satisfactory. What does he mean? Does he mean it is okay for him if the players did not try as much as they could, even if high work-rate is more likely to pay dividends? Does he mean they can play safe and sit on their laurels rather than play a good game of football in search of confidence-boosting win? What kind of message is he trying to convey to the players and at large to the hurting fans? If this is the kind of message he has ahead of yet another tournament after unexpected exits from the last two tournaments we many as well resign to the fact we are doomed to yet another shocking exit. If the coach has nothing inspiring to say, what more could you expect!

All the best to the youth team! Whatever you don't lose to Sri Lanka! With a win in the first match, we'll be more upbeat going into the match against India.
