I need a decent proposal to go abroad : Ashfaag
22 July 2005

ASHFAAG: receiving the award of highest goal scorer of 2003

Msoccer: Is there any one’s influence when u sign a contract
?

No. there is not. But I always ask my mom. So can say that mom has an influence

Msoccer: There was speculation that you would be seeing in another club this year? What happened?

There was a talk with New Radiant and I did not opt. Victory also contacted

Msoccer: Why didn’t you go to Portugal?

Actually I did not go because there were some personal reasons. That’s why I did not opt to go at the last moment.

Msoccer: How do you rate Kiss, the former coach?

He is a good coach in his ways. He tries to play good football.

Msoccer: If there is any improvements that you feel that has to take place in Maldives in order to increase the level of football what do you think it is?

The game is too defensive. Whether we play a home team or an away team we still have the same level of mentality. Play defense. It has to be changed a lot.

Msoccer: There was an argument between you and kiss. What happened?

Actually it cannot be said as an argument. It is more over a misunderstanding. He thought that I was not concentrating and gave up. But it was not like that. That’s why the disagreement was there. There was no argument about that.

Msoccer: Do you think players should play professionally instead of semi-professionalism?

yeah it should be there. I don’t think players can concentrate on it now

Msoccer: When are you getting married?

very soon

Msoccer: Will you go abroad if you get a chance?

Ofcourse I would go, but it depends on a decent proposal.

Msoccer: Will you take part in a song?

No way. If it is a still photo it is ok. But not in a movie or a TV advertisement.

Msoccer: Which defender is difficult to beat?

Anil and Amil

Msoccer: What’s your happiest moment?

When I received the two awards (Footballer of the year and Highest goal scorer in 2003)

Msoccer: Who do you think is the best referee in Maldives?

Ali Saleem and Riyaz

Msoccer: Whom do you want to give credit to make you as who you are now?

Firstly my mom, then Mohamed Ibrahim (Kappi), Athif, Shah Ismail

Msoccer: Are lights a problem for you?

Well, it is not a problem. It makes easier for us to play. They should change all the games to play at night.

Msoccer: You were sent back from the team selection squad of 3rd SAF championship. Why?

Because of some disciplinary problems I think. I was sad to come. And thought I would earn it to come back to the team and I am now happy that I did it.

Msoccer: When your contract expires when considering other teams, will you opt for New Radiant?

Can’t say no. but there is very less chance that I would go to New Radiant.

Msoccer: What’s the difference between Kiss and George?

Kiss plays a running game without the ball. But George plays with as a team. You would not know when your tired when you play with the ball. And everyone enjoys it.

Msoccer: Your play is very low these days? Why?

It is because of Injury. I have a cyst near my left knee. I am doing an operation after upcoming Dhivehi league. I might go to abroad to do it. But have not decided it yet. It is difficult to walk even. I use a guard in the matches these days.

Msoccer: Where do you think Valencia needs more improvement?

Midfield. Now the defense has to play a long ball and we have to run for it. If the midfield is strong we can play it accordingly.

Msoccer: In AFC cup, Valencia did not perform well. What do you think is the reason?

Lack of Concentration. And there was no interest on it too much. I can say for sure that we can win those games.

Msoccer: Do you think physical fitness should be improved? Like a gym to be functioned in a traning program?

I personally think it should be done as well.
