| Nominees for season's best player revealed

MALDIVES - Valencia and national team skipper Assad Abdul Ghanee, last season’s Valencia strikers Ali Ashfaag and Ali Umar, New Radiant’s midfielder Ibrahim Fazeel and Victory’s captain and keeper Imran have been nominated for Haveeru’s best player award.
Haveeru will present the winner a trophy along with a cash prize of RF 25,000 on Haveeru’s sports awards night, which is scheduled to be held at Dharubaaruge on 20th of this month.
Among the nominees, Ali Umar and Ali Ashfaag have moved to New Radiant at the end of last year’s football season. All five nominees played a vital role in the national team in last year’s SAFF championship, where Ashfaag and Fazeel each scored 3 goals and Ali Umar scored 2.
Other awards that will be presented in the ceremony are best referee, best coach, top scorer and volleyball player of last year.
Haveeru has counted national tournaments organized by FAM, club and national team tournaments organized by AFC and FIFA and last year’s SAFF championship in judging the football category.
