New Radiant's dream of next round is almost over

Male', MALDIVES - Tampines crashed Hurriyya Sports Club by 4-0 in the AFC Cup clash here in Male'. The home side lacked any pace and suffered another disastrous defeat. Tampines followed their game play with short passes and slowing the pace of the game. And it worked really good for them as Hurriyya players were chasing the ball and tiring themselves out.

The first goal came from a corner kick. Mohamed Rafi headed to the corner of the goal leaving no chance for Ishaaq. The second goal came minutes later, in the 24 th minute by Mohamed Rafi from another corner. It was kind of a replay of the first goal. Hurriyya player's motivation dropped to zero.

Ishaq had to make a brave save, with a one-on-one situation with Peres in the 38 th minute giving Hurriyya a smile, which did not last for long. Alam Shah also took a long range shot which missed the target by inches.

In the second half, Aliff Shaffein scored in the early minutes keeping Hurriyya more devastated in the home grounds. Peres pass was well timed when Aliff shot it to the goal, leaving no chance for Keeper.

None of the teams managed to create an open chance and kept the ball in the midfield. In the dying minutes of the second half, Alam shah scored the fourth goal of the match when he headed a cross from Peres. Keeper Ishaaq did not do much effort to save the ball.

In the post match news conference, Tampines coach was delighted of the score line and said that he felt that the match was on their side at the end of the first half.

‘Out strategy worked and after the two goals, I felt that the match is on our side. But they worked really hard to grab something out from the game”

Talking about the chances for the next round he said that, they have to watch the results of the other games to comment on it.

‘We have to know the results of the other games to comment on that.”

Chitavanich was full of praise for the Hurriyya team and their effort.

‘The young players were very enthusiastic. They worked very hard and they passed and worked hard without any foreign players”

Hurriyya's assistant coach, Mohamed Rafeeu said he was happy with the game play even though they were defeated.

“Our boys worked really hard and they played a good game. The only thing I am not happy is the score line”

Commenting on Ali Shiham's play Rafeeu said he was 95% fit and need more practice

“He is getting well. He is 95% physically fit, but need to have more practice”
