Male', MALDIVES - According to reliable sources maldivesoccer.com has known that the disciplinary committee has met this evening regarding the unsporting behavior in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League decider between New Radiant and Victory. The fans and the officials of both teams erupted when Referee Riyaz made a huge error by awarding Victory Sports Club a penalty in the 21st minute. New Radiant supporters and the officials were unhappy about the decision and some of the upset fans nearly threw off the advertisement boards. One of the New Radiant officials also kicked a water bottle in to the field in rage. Victory supporters showed rage after Luciano’s penalty was disallowed by referee Riyaz Rasheed claiming that one of the players went inside the penalty area before the kick was taken. Then, some of the over raged Victory fans threw water bottles in to the pitch and were calmed down by the officials and the Star Force team of Maldives Police Services. According to reliable sources, the disciplinary committee decided to investigate the matter based on the findings in the match commissioner’s report. The clashes between New Radiant and Victory always attract huge fans because of the uncertainty and the huge physical game between the two teams. The clash between these two teams in the National Tournament had to be re-played in close doors because of the clashes in the opening match.
