Male', MALDIVES - Haveeru daily has announced the names of four coaches, who are competing for Haveeru’s best coach award. The four coaches are former New Radiant and currently national team coach Stoikov, Hurriyya coach Goffa, Victory’s head coach Mauroof and Valencia coach Lazlo Kiss, who helped Valencia in last year’s FA Cup, AFC Cup, Cup Winners Cup and part of zone 9 tournament.

Out of the four nominees, Bulgarian born Stoikov won Maldives FA Cup with New Radiant, that booked them a place in this year’s AFC Cup and he took New Radiant to the semi final of last year’s AFC Cup, which is considered as the best a local club has achieved in an international tournament. New Radiant also played in the finals of last year’s President’s cup (formerly known as National tournament).

Huriyyaa won a place in this year’s AFC Cup by winning last year’s Dhivehi League with the help of Slovakian coach Goffa. Hurriyya also performed notably well in last year’s Zone 9 tournament (previously known as Male’ League) and in President’s cup.

Under the coaching of Mauroof Ahmed, Victory won last year’s President’s cup by beating New Radiant in the final and played in the finals of last year’s Cup Winners Cup as well. Victory lost Zone 9 tournament when they were held to a goalless draw by Hurriyya in tournament’s last match.

With Hungarian born Lazlo Kiss in their bench, Valencia won last year’s Cup Winners cup and won one match and drew another in AFC Cup. Valencia, who won Zone 9 Tournament, was in the second position when Kiss left the club.

According to Haveeru daily, they have already send the invitation to the nominees to present in the awarding ceremony, which is expected to be held at the end of this month. The winner will receive a cash prize of RF 5000 together with Haveeru’s trophy. Tournaments covered in judging the coaches include tournaments organized by FAM and club and national team tournaments organized by AFC and FIFA says Haveeru press release.
