MALDIVES - Haveeru daily has announced the nominees for the best referee award to be given by Haveeru daily in their sports award night, which is expected to held at the end of this month according to their marketing department.
The five nominees for this award include FIFA referees Ali Saleem, Riyaz Rasheed and FIFA assistant referees Ahmed Ameez, Ahmed Abeer and Ahmed Umeedhu.
In a statement send by Haveeru daily quotes as saying the senior judge in Haveeru Football judges’ panel, that out of the five nominees three are competing closely to the award.
Haveeru would be giving a cash prize of sum of RF 5000 for the winner. Haveeru will collect the opinions of the readers via a published coupon and the judges’ panel, which consists of coaches and officials of first division clubs and senior officials of FAM technical committee, will select the best referee.
Other awards that will present in Haveeru’s sports awards night include: best coach, best player, top scorer of last year’s football season and best volleyball player of last year.
