Q: How much do you know about Maldivian football?
A: I have no clue about Maldivian football. I have requested club president, Mr Adheel for some tapes so I could watch it in home or any where before the practices start. I arrived in here on the 9th thinking that I would start practice very shortly. Since the practices would resume on the 15th, I would like to have a feel about Maldivian soccer. So I am waiting for them to send me the tapes.

Q: It is believed that Chris played a big role of your signing to Club Valencia?
A: Yes. But frankly, we only met twice in our life time. We were in Perth before for an instructors coaching camp. But we did not meet there. But later, one of the coaching directors sent a mail asking me that Chris is looking out for a coach who would coach in Maldives. We then met in Perth. And then later, Adheel gave me a ring and fixed everything. So that’s how I came here!

Q: Do you have any information about the foreign players?
A: Well, Adheel asked me about the foreign players. So on my way to here, I stopped in Indonesia and checked out some players of Liberia. Also I checked for one Australian Striker. I also checked one player who is from Nigeria. But we can only fix it after the holidays.

Q: There were a lot of coaches in Valencia’s history and each played a different game. How is your game plan?
A: Well, it depends really. I don’t have any clue of the team. I can say some after I meet the squad, after I watch the videos.

Q: How do you like to organize your games?
A: well, I want to add a lot of spices to my coaching schedule. I want to do different things every day. I want the team to be 80-85% prepared before the team starts. I would like to practice, do physical training in the gymnasium and do some in another island too. But it all depends on the players schedule after I meet them.

Q: It seems that our players are very physically weak and it should be improved from club level, what’s your opinion?
A: Well, I would say it is a must to have gymnasium in their schedule. It is a very physical game these days. So we need to be physically fit.

Q: What would be your game strategy?
A: Well, as I said previously I should have some knowledge about the team. But mostly I play a very attacking game, but gives importance to the defence as well. I try to organize the attacks slowly.

Q: What’s your vision?
A: I would obviously want to win and qualify for the AFC Cup and to win the tournaments. Let’s hope so.
