Male', MALDIVES - The 11th edition of most expensive soccer tournament in Maldives football season will kick off today at National stadium. Two time champion New Radiant will face defending second division champion Vyansa.

Vyansa management stated that they will try to play an organised game and give their 100% to win the game keeping in mind that New Radiant is a strong team and one mistak could decide the game.

'We have to reduce our mistakes as they are a very strong team and would utilize a single mistake for their benefit. If the players play up to their standard, we would get a good result"

On the other hand, New Radiant repeated the same wordings they did before the season opening match.

"Our players are not fit. They just came from injuries and we would take these games to prepare for the AFC Cup" Gen. Secretary Niyaz said.

"The players cannot perform up to the expectation. If they want to play at their peak standards they need a lot of match practice and should be fully recovered. So our target is to overhaul all those and prepare for AFC Cup"

Eventhough they will take the game as a preparation to the AFC Cup, Niyaz knew this is the most expensive tournament.

"Obviously, the most expensive tournament is Cup Winner's Cup and we would try to win it. But we cannot perform to the spectators expectation during this tournament"

New Radiant were beaten by Victory SC four days back in the season opening match. In a match New Radiant couldn't manage to get the attention of the spectators, Victory came from behind to beat them by 2-1.

This is the first time New Radiant and Vyansa face in a cup winners cup match. New Radiant's ace striker Ashfaag is likely to be ruled out due to his injury and their Romanian midfielder will not play in today's match, as the club revealed that he will be back on 24th after attending his mother's funeral.
