Old but bold: raising hand high, Anil runs to celebrate his first
goal and Victory's second of the day

Male', MALDIVES - Three goals came in from Victory in the first period of the game shocked Valencia in today's game that ended in favour of Victory by 4-1, and this result must be very embarrassing for the defending champion and they seems to have a mountain to climb in order to keep their eyes wide open to the trophy.

Victory opened the scoring in the 14 th minute from the spot by defender Ahmed Saeed (Ammaty). Valencia 's defender Jazeel was the culprit of the incident as he purposely handed the ball that went straight into the goal. Jazeel was sent off, and he is the first player being sent off in this season.

Ismail Anil, who was retired once but returned from last season, increased the lead six minutes later from a timely header. Then saw Issey struck the ball into the goal from a shot he created after beating Valencia captain Assad.

Valencia coach Eric made two changes to his team during the half time, striker Raushan was substituted with Stanley , who arrived last night and Ahmed Naaz was replaced by Shifau Ahmed. The substitutions somehow changed the pace of the game and in the 83 rd minute Stanlely, who appeared without any practice with the team, scored the only goal for Valencia .

Issey again found space in the nick of time in a very tight angle to make the scoreline 4-1.

"The red card was ridiculous! The ball hits his hand, he did not handed the ball. So obviously it should be a yellow card and the penalty. It was the turning point of the game. The second descision was poor as well. The goal by us should be a foul instead of the goal. The keeper was attacked during the play." Valencia coach Eric said in the news conference.

Maattey was also furious about the referee's descisions. The ball was inside the goal when it hits the hand of Jazeel, but the assistant referee did not show it as a goal. That was the second time Ummeedh ruled out a goal.

"He should be pulled out!. He made two big mistakes." said Maattey

Mattey also agreed with Eric regarding the goal by Valencia.

"I talked with Imran. He said he was charged and it should be a foul."

About the game, Eric Williams said that he is more pleased with 10 men rather than 11.

"The players had played much better with 10. So I guess I should make the pracitice's tempo much higher and use 10 players "

" I have never seen a football match like this in my entire life!. They had no organization. Nothing at all" said disappointed Eric.

On the other hand, Mauroof was very much pleased with the game.

"My players played a very organized game and I am very happy with the performance"

Regarding fazeeh's injury, Mauroof was not so serious.

"He was not prepared for the game. I was thinking of using him for the last 20 mins. But to increase the tempo I introduced and he was not ready at that time"
