MALDIVES - Sea Land came from behind to claim the champions of 3rd division when they beat rival FC Cicada by 3-1 in the final match played yesterday. Hussain Hameed of Cicada took the lead through a free header received from a free kick, giving the Sea land keeper no chance of saving the ball.
The high spirited Sea Land took the lead from two brilliant efforts from Mohamed Rameez in the 43rd minute and the extra period of first half respectively. Cicada hopes were almost blown away from Sea Lands 76th minute goal, making the score line to 3-1.
Sea Land keeper Ibrahim Afrah and Mohamed Fuhaid named best goal keeper and best player of the tournament respectively. Ahmed Waheed of Muiveyo friends and Mohamed Shujau of Hithaadhoo youth wings are the fair play player and top scorer respectively and Hithaadhoo youth wings wins the fair play team award.
Eventhough Cicada lost the final; they are qualified to the second division along with Sea Land.
