Shaweed wins AFC executive commiteee seat

Manama, BAHRAIN - Football Association of Maldives normalization committee chairman, Mohamed Shaweed has won the seat for the AFC executive committee today. The voting has been conducted for various posts of the AFC executive committee in the AFC congress held in Manama, Banhrain.

Shaweed won the seat without an election today as the condidate from Sri Lanka withdrew his name on the last minute. Bhutan candidate has also withdrew his name previously.

In the other slots allocated for the SAFF region, Indian candidate Praful Patel has won the post of AFC Vice President. While Pakistan’s Mahmoodh Sayed Faisal also won the seat from the executive committee. The fourth seat for the SAFF region goes to the candidate from Bangaldesh, Mahfooza Akhthar.

Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa won the AFC president for the second term.
