Shahir appoints as match commissioner

Male’, MALDIVES – Asian football’s governing body, AFC has appointed Maldives match commissioner, Ahmed Shahir as a match commissioner during the 2015 Asian Cup to be held in Australia in January 2015.

Speaking to maldivesoccer.com Shahir said it was a huge privilege to work as a match commissioner in the biggest football tournament in the region.

“I am delighted and proud as a Maldivian to have this opportunity to work as a match commissioner in Asian Cup.”

“I will be working in Sydney’s Stadium Australia and it will be the place that will host the final of the tournament.”

The AFC has appointed 5 match commissioners from the region along with Shahir. He has commissioned the final of AFC Champions League in 2012 and this year’s semifinal of the Asian Champions League.

Shahir started as the youngest match commissioner in 2002.
