Male’, MALDIVES – According to reliable sources, maldivesoccer.com can confirm that this season’s top scorer, Mohamed Umair has signed for New Radiant for the upcoming season. However, when contacted by maldivesoccer.com, Umair denied signing to New Radiant and said that he would confirm his decision to sign a club after he returns back to Male’ from Eid holidays.

The 24 year-old strikers contract with Victory Sports Club has been expired at the end of his last game of the season.

“I haven’t signed any team for the upcoming season so far”.

“The football season was over for me last night only, and I am yet to think about next year”.

Umair also noted that he has received unofficial offers from some clubs, but denied to reveal the names.

“I’ve got some unofficial offers from clubs, but I will only think about that after the Eid holidays”.

Umair said that Victory played well this year, but they were just unlucky to lift a trophy. Victory won the silver medal from both Dhiraagu Dhivehi League and the Presidents cup, while they ended the fourth in the FA Cup.

“I guess we played well, but we were just unlucky to win a championship”.

“I know the whole club is saddened that we finish empty handed. Just wanted to tell our beloved supporters that we tried our best, but we couldn’t”.

Umair thanked his teammates; coaching staffs that he claims are the people who helped him to be the top scorer of the season.

“With Allah’s will, my teammates helped me to be the top scorer of the season”.

“I thank all of them who helped me on and off the pitch, most of all, I thank our head Coach Suzain for having the faith in me”.

“Thank you Coach”.

I think Umair denies the signing, all the comments are to welcome the blues squad. Too many cooks spoil the dish.... How many strikers does blues need to win a game??
