Male’, MALDIVES – Ali Ashfaq has been awarded player of the season by New Radiant Sports Club in a special ceremony held to celebrate the success of the club. The ceremony was labeled as the gold night.

Ali Ashfaq was awarded a MRF 15,000/- and two trophies for the award. Speaker of the Parliament, Abdullah Shahid gave the award.

Samaah Hussain won the youth player award. Samaah was awarded MRF 5,000 and a trophy for the award.

Goal keeper Imran won the best goal award for his punt kick against Victory in President’s Cup.

New Radiant also gave a lifetime achievement award to their kit manager Sattar. Former New Radiant chairman and Vice President, Waheeduddeen gave the award.

Excellence award was given to board member Ali Shareef, Mohammed Shiyaz (Mohan) and Imran Mohammed.

Platinum Appreciation award was given to Milo and Medianet. Gold Appreciation award was given to Hassan, Waheeduddin and Ibrahim Nooraddeen.

New Radiant also unveiled their new signings for the season. Moosa Yamin, Fasir, Umair, Rilwan and Niyaz (Bokuree) were announced in the ceremony.

New Radiant Sports Club revolutionized Maldivian football, and they continue to do so since being founded in 1979. Thank you, chairman for helping us get back on track. Congratulations, award winners. You guys deserved it :) As for the whole event, it was pretty awesome. Except for some minor twitches here and there, it was amazing. FasyLive was the bomb, and Koyya Hassan Manik's speech really got us thinking. It was a night to remember, and I hope they'll organize more of these, sometime in the near future.
