EYC 2014 - Hard fought win for New Radiant

Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club won their first match of the ELL Mobile Youth Championship today after beating Maziya Sports and Recreation Club by 4-3.

New Radiant’s Ahmed Hassan broke the deadlock in the third minute and three minutes later Hamza Mohamed doubled the lead from a superb bicycle kick.

In the 20th minute referee awarded a straight red card to New Radiant’s keeper Abdulla Fayaz. However former Valencia player Wahid was unable to beat New Radiant's second choice keeper from the spot kick.

Maziya took advantage of the extra player and eight minutes later Mohamed Irufan scored.

Six minutes after the break Maziya’s Abdulla Waaziu scored a wonderful goal and leveled the game. But five minutes later Majdhan Solikh took the lead for New Radiant for the third time.

In the 61st minute Mohamed Irufan scored Maziya’s third goal and level the match for the second time while in the extra time Hamza Mohamed scored the winner for New Radiant.

In the first match of ELL Mobile Youth Championship Club Eagles beat Club Valencia by 10-0 while in the second match of the tournament Mahibadhoo Sports Club beat Victory by 1-0 last night.
