Important win for New Radiant

Male’, MALDIVES – Defending champions New Radiant beat Club Valencia tonight by 2-0 and moved to the fifth position of the table. Mohamed Muslih and Hamza Mohamed scored the two goals for New Radiant.

Assistant coach Ashraf Luthfy was the caretaker coach of this match as their head coach Iordan Soykov resigned from his post few days back and it was their first game in the league since his resignation.

New Radiant played very well throughout the game and created very good goal scoring chances. Abdulla Haneef missed their first attempt in the second minute.

Valencia’s Angel Munoz hits the woodwork in the 53rd minute from a powerful shot inside the box and ten minutes later keeper Jun Kochi was forced to stop the shot from Awilo.

Substitute player Mohamed Muslih broke the deadlock in the 71st minute from a descent shot inside the box.

Two minutes before the normal Hamza Mohamed doubled the lead for New Radiant after picking a descent pass from Muslih.

With this win New Radiant moved to the fifth position of the table with 16 points from 14 games. And if United Victory wins their game against TC Sports New Radiant will drop to sixth position again. Valencia lies on fourth position of the table with 19 points from 14 games.

United Victory will play against TC Sports today at 1600 hours and Maziya will play against Eagles tonight at 2100 hours.
