Youth championship to kick off on Saturday

Male', MALDIVES - Youth championship is set to kick off on 25th of January where all the matches of the tournament will be played in the turf ground as the renovation work of national stadium for the AFC Challenge cup is now underway.

Although 14 teams were supposed to compete in the championship, Vilimale United withdrew from the competition and 13 teams were drawn into three groups.

In the draw held at FAM house on Sunday, Five teams are in one group while the other two groups consist of four teams.

Teams in Group A; Club Valencia, Club Eagles, Mahibadhoo Sports club, Victory Sports Club and Club Green Street.

The four teams in Group B are; New Radiant Sports Club, Maziya Sports and Recriation, Vaikaradhoo FC and Veyru Sports Club. While BG Sports, Kelaa Naalhi Sports, All Youth Linkage and Eydhafushi Zuvaanuge Club in Group C.

Defending champions Valencia will face Eagles in the first match of the tournament. Two matches will be played in each match day. Quarterfinal matches of the tournament will kick off on February 9th and Semifinal matches are scheduled to play on 16th and
