Male’. MALDIVES – Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has informed Football Association of Maldives to improve the security of the VIP area.

A reliable source has confirmed to maldivesoccer.com that the issue was that some of the VIP members entered the pitch after last night’s match between Maldives and Kyrgyzstan when AFC informed them that they can’t go in to the pitch area.

“They were informed that only the three Presidents and three security officers can enter in to the pitch area, but some other VIP members and security officers entered to the field and we may face a fine for that offense.”

“AFC has informed us to secure the area and if we failed to do for tonight’s game than they might not allow us to play the game here.”

“We are now working to fix three gates in each of the stairs in the rostrum area and we hope that we can finish this before tonight’s match.”

As per the rules of this tournament the stadium is under AFC and they have the right to control the arrangements in the stadium during the tournament.

It was on the news last year that some officials from Maldives football federation express dissatisfaction about the arrangements of facilities when Nepal host the AFC challenge game. Its always easy to complain , but its hard to work out... Shame Shame !

are u freaking kidding me? u are comparing low rated hotels in nepal with 5 star luxury resorts in here?? one more thing if u are talking about the delay in group b match ? have u seen the last euro in poland ? where the most high quality pitches couldn't hold the rain so the match go delayed for a long time!! so that is a proof that even if u get fully prepared , mother nature can stop u with a gasp of wind and rain
