FAIR PLAY PLEASE, when Riechelt(11) was injured during the 2nd half of the extra time, it was an attacking play by the Azkals but Sato(3) decided to kick the ball outside. After that, the Maldives player should have given the ball to the Azkals but they did not, instead they launched attacking long ball. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Oh cum on it was a time waste, the player was not even injured, that guys walks back as soon as he left the pitch, only thing they were trying to do is wast the time. Its not necessary to give the ball in such kind of situation. Fair play does not always mean that they have to give the ball even when the player is faking to waste the time. Its very unprofessional too.

The Philippines has 21 shots while Maldives had 11. Luc certainly wasn't the biggest factor for them.

Even your star player Ashfaq can't even outsmart a 19 year old defender of the Philippines. Your team only rely on long balls and counter attacks. Offense is horrible too.

Thanks for our national team for giving such a great fight against a strong team like the Phillipines. Congratulations to Phillipines for reaching the final and your goalkeeper has again saved you. One thing is very clear in this tournament. The South Asian region is slightly behind the rest of Asian football. A question that we'd like to settle is who is the strongest in S. Asia. Is it Afghanistan? The third place match is where we can find the answer. We have a great opportunity to show that we have progressed in football to be amongst the top 2 in the region in the third place match. We haven't lost against Afghanistan and certainly don't want to lose in front of our fans. Afghanistan will feature a fully fit squad and it'll be a very tough match indeed.

That is a useless match. This is a tournament for a spot in the Asian Cup, there is no joy of winning the third, not even winning runner-up. All the joy is for the winning team, the rest are simply loosers!!!! ::: Having said that, there is some thing we could achieve in the FIFA ranking if we win against Afghan. In this tournament we will get higher points than SAFF C'ship. So our ambition of reaching the 20th position in AFC ranking may be achieved by winning this match. BUT i think it would be better if FAM build a good relationship with these challenge cup teams and play regular friendly matches with them. These are ideal teams for us ( not too tough; so that we can still implement our game plan AND not too easy; so that we should always keep our concentration).

Roland Muller is right. They must act professionally in the soccer game just like Muller did to a downed player of Maldives, he helped him until medic came in the field. Out of their desperation, even a fair play act they can't do. Disappointed.

Fair Play please..respect this code! The upcoming match between the Turkmenistan and Maldives will be interesting judging on their idea of Fair Play.. The Turks represented by HTTU did what Maldives showed last night against Ceres la Salle at the recently concluded AFC President's Cup.

Congratulations Philippines. Its was a nice game and it could have ended in our favour too!!! Anyway we impose fair play very well, but in this match it was our players desperation for a win that killed fair play in that circumstance!!!! And when you all Philippines supporters notice this single un-fair play act, why you did not notice the many time wasting acts by your team??? And do you know the moto/slogan of this tournament is also "no for time wasting", (ok, not exaclty like that but it is about not wasting time)!!! ::: People see/hear many things but they only talk about what they want, we always keep ignoring what we do not like/want:::

Fair play is not allowing cheats to prosper. The pinoy was lying on the ground, clutching his face, maybe praying for a priest to say his last rites, but as soon as the ball was kicked out of play he made a "miraculous" recovery and ran back on the pitch. Hahaha!

Most of the successful national teams has players playing in other countries to gain experience. Lionel Messi is playing in Spain but his national team is Argentina which its current FIFA ranking is 6. But anyways, complain that to the officials and NOT here! The score is final and that cannot be changed!

Time wasting, what? My goodness, anyone who knows football should very well know that every time a player goes down and the medics come in, additional minutes are put in after regulation. I pity the ignorance and the arrogance of the host team. Ahsfaq could not even accept the result by confronting the Azkals after the game. SORE LOSERS, INDEED! But aside from that "unfair play" and the absence of grace in defeat, credit also goes to the Maldives side for showing grit and tenacity. What a thriller it was!

Read the FIFA rules. There are no foreign imports in the side of the Philippines. Most of the players are Filipinos plying their trade in Europe.

FYI, we dont have any imports..check the rules..no players can represent a country if he is not a citizen of that country. If you are referring to the Philippines' Euro-playing players, hey, they are Filipinos, born to either a European dad or American Father to a Filipino mom..I want to share this with you..Shrock's mom is from Mindanao, Reichelt's mother is a Cebuana, Martin Steuble's mom is also a Visayan from Bacolod City..furthermore, if you can visit our country, you will see a lot of Filipinos who you may say are not brown skinned..the reason(s) more than three centuries we wre under the Spaniards, then came the Americans, and during the modern era, our workers, nurses went to other nations i.e. Europe, America, and married other races...btw, our constitution allows dual citizenship..

And other great Azkals players in our country is either injured or still recovering from injuries. ...see the DIFFERENCE IN OTHER ASPECT!

the population of your country has nothing to do with what transpired. Yes, the Philippines may have more people than Maldives, but based on research, the Philippines is more of a basketball country rather than a football crazy island. furthermore, those being pointed as imports are not imports at all, they are foreign born filipinos usually from a European or American father with Filipino mothers. Try to visit their country you will see a lot fair skinned Filipinos born in the Philippines.

Maldives' fans are shouting of time wasting its as if they haven't done it. To my recall I've seen Maldives time waste and act badly when they are in the lead against other teams. I'm not a fan of time wasting and I've seen worse time wasting act than what Philippines did yesterday which is not that bad its just that Maldives are just so desperate to win. Its a tactic in any sport when you are in the lead, basketball runs down the clock, boxing you run like a chicken when your leading, football even in world cup there are time wasting acts. That's why the goalie of the Phils accepted the yellow card for the delay. Fair play is sportsmanship act its not in the rulebook but is respected by the greats (i assume Maldives team are not on the great level) Maldives like didn't fair play for at least three times and its not good to show to kids who loves football. Philippines intentionally gave the ball out even on one circumstance close to their box to stop the game but then Maldives didn't fair play after. I think if they could only let the game play even when one player was down they would do so. Such an act of desperation not good. Pure unsportsman act. - football fan from Australia btw Maldives good thing you won't be here for Asian cup because you're not in any way welcome. Too bad you have a good quality player on Ashfaq(spell check) but he doesn't get my respect.

To those who think that the Azkals employed "Imports," think again..most of our players may have been born outside the Philippines but most of them plays in our local league. They also have a Filipino parent either their mom or dad..
