Male’, MALDIVES – Palestine coach Jamal Mahmoud has said that their main aim is to win the AFC Challenge Cup final match against Philippines tomorrow night for the people of Palestine.

“We want to win the tournament and qualify for the Asian Cup. So our aim is to win this tournament and without a win we can’t participate in the Asian Cup.” Speaking at the pre match press conference held at National Football Stadium tonight, Jamal Mahmoud said.

“All of us knew that if we win this match we will be playing in Asian Cup and it will be a big exposure for Palestine football to achieve this.”

Jamal also said that he hope the match against Philippines would be a good match.

“I hope that it will be a good match against Philippines tomorrow and they were the better team and prepared very well for this tournament. They have played more matches in preparation for this tournament when compared to us.”

“But our players are very well prepared for this match and we hope to win this match against and it’s more important for Palestine to win this match.”

“I think all of them wanted to win this tournament. All of them want us to win this match.”

Meanwhile Philippines coach, American born Tomas Dooley said that even before the tournament their main aim was to win this tournament.

“The main goal of us before the tournament was to win the AFC Challenge Cup when I took over this job and it was not only my goal it was the goal of the federation as well.”

Dooley also added that being in the final of AFC Challenge Cup was a good achievement for the Philippines.

“I would say this is a big achievement for Philippines as this is the first time that we are playing in a final of such a tournament for the first time.”

“The players achieved a good thing and the peoples are happy with this, we want to play in the Asian Cup and for this we have to win tomorrow’s game against Palestine.”

Dooley also reiterated that they will be playing against a team, who hasn’t concede a goal in this tournament.

“We have a great respect to Palestine and I have watched many games of them and I must say this is one of the best teams in this tournament. No body scores against them and this is huge.”
