BG stuns New Radiant

BG skipper Daniel in action against Valencia in ODPL. BG won the match against New Radiant by 2-0 today.

Male’, MALDIVES – BG Sports Club won their first game in Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League after a shocking 2-0 win against defending champions New Radiant.

New Radiant started the match without four key players against BG Sports and the opponents took advantage.

New Radiant’s first attempt came from Hamza Mohamed in the 10th minute that was blocked by BG players for a corner kick.

Ten minutes Suhail missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock. Hamza penetrated the defense line of BG and gave a good ball to Suhail but his powerless shot inside the box went straight to the gloves of the keeper.

Sabiq scores from a decent shot in the 65th minute but it was ruled out for an off side.

Sabiq broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute from a wonderful shot inside the box from a descent cross by Osaige.

Ibrahim Shiyam doubled the lead for BG Sports in the 78th minute from a thunderbolt shot whit hits the roof of the net.

After this win BG Sports Club moved to the seventh position of the table with 7 points from 13 games while Victory dropped to eighth position with 4 points.

Club Valencia will play against Victory Sports Club tonight at 2100 hours at National Stadium.

Criminal for New Radiant to employ their most successful coach Stoykov in one of their hibernating seasons and blemish his emphatic record in their most successful year. You don't use a club legend to manage one of your weakest sides in years. That's not how honour your legends !
