Male’, MALDIVES – Asian Football Confederation has fined New Radiant Sports Club with USD 3,000 for violating article 38.5 of the regulation of the AFC Cup in their home game against Kitchee on 12th April.

Article 38.5 of the regulations states; Participating Clubs shall ensure that no unauthorized persons are permitted entry into the dressing room, Field of Play, or any other Controlled Access Area requiring an Accreditation Card.

Maldivesoccer.com understood that the reason for this was that New Radiant gave access to the contestants of Maldivian Idol to restricted areas of the stadium during the match.

This is the first time that a Maldivian team was fined by the AFC for violating the article 38.5 of the regulations of AFC Cup.

New Radiant also have to pay USD 1,000 for the red card to their goal keeper Sulemana in that match.

USD 3000? That is effectively the annual salary they pay for their top players. What on earth was team manager doing with this kind of casual oversight? You barely have mouth-to-hand existence in a country where gate-money is almost non-existent, and then you get caught up in euphoria of country’s latest sensation! This is simply not done!

This is the state of the top most club of the country. Then they will blame this again on the FAM. If you can't run a club, then it's better to give it back to Ali Waheed, who is still interested to run it. Queen family and co threw away Ali Waheed in a very cheap stunt and never gave the respect he deserved who gave the status of number one team in the country in terms of success by passing Victory Sports Club.
