Bakaa (R) signs a one year deal with Maziya today

Male’, MALDIVES – National team and Eagles’s midfielder Mohamed Arif (Bakaa) has signed a one year deal with Maziya Sports and Recreation Club.

Bakaa said to maldivesoccer.com that New Radiant was also negotiated with him but Maziya’s offer was much better then them.

“New Radiant also contacted me but Maziya’s offer was much better and also Maziya will be competing in the AFC Cup next season.”

Bakaa, who won the Haveeru Maldivian Footballer of the year award in 2010 did not disclose value of his contract with Maziya.

Maziya has signed with some good players to strengthen their team for the upcoming season. The players who joined Maziya includes Hassan Adham, Shafiu Ahmed, Hussain Shuaib, Ali Nafiu, Adam Imran and keeper Nisah.

Maziya will play against Kelantan (Malaysia), Ayewady (Myanmar) and SHB Da Nang (Vietnam). Kelantan won the Malaysian League with 60 points. They were also the 2012 Malaysian FA Cup winners. Ayeyawady United won the 2012 MFF Cup in Myanmar. Da Nang won the 2012 Vietnamese League.
