Normalization Committee’s mandate extends by FIFA

Male’, MALDIVES - FIFA Emergency Committee has extended the mandate of the normalization committee of Football Association of Maldives for the second time until 31st March 2016.

“The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided to extend the mandate of the normalisation committee of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) until 31 March 2016 so as to enable FAM to adopt new statutes and complete the registration process of its statutes with the authorities, as well as to organise an elective congress.” FIFA’s media release said after the emergency committee meeting held today.

Football Association of Maldives has cancelled their extra ordinary congress last October because of the relevant authorities failed to provide the necessary approvals for the meeting.

FIFA has previously given the warning of a possible suspension if the government of Maldives is interfering the Football Association of Maldives.
