Valencia managed to get a point against Eagles tonihgt.

Male’, MALDIVES – Club Valencia managed to get a point against Club Eagles after a goalless draw in the Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League tonight.

Valencia’s defender Shafiu Ahmed tested Eagles Sri Lankan keeper Weerasinghe from out side the box.

Four minutes later Valencia’s keeper Mohamed Faisal was forced to stop a good shot from Rizwan.

Five minutes before the break Valencia’s Akram missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock from a stunning shot inside the box, which was saved by keeper.

Eagles keeper was forced to stop another descent shot from Valencia’s Angel in the 45th minute of the game.

In the 73rd minute Awilo made another good shot inside the box but it went wide.

In the last minute of the normal time Angel missed another good shot inside the box which went straight to the gloves of the keeper.

Awilo gave a good ball to Akram and he shot it into the net but the flag was up against him.

I think this has so far been the best match of this years league, good pace shown by both teams and it did feel like both teams were playing with a plan and trying to execute them. In recent times it felt like some of the Teams just went on the ground chased the ball and played amateur football. We need to develop tactically and physically. Last night I felt and saw couple of very good players with potential to try out for the national team. It's the determination and hunger to win shown by these players that I like the most. Number 11 and 5 of Eagles and Rilwan and Visham(Gerard) of Valencia played well. numan (helmet) was at his ruthless self and defended with his no nonsense attitude. Over all very good match by both teams. I feel these two teams can go a long way in the league this year. Some happy signs of getting much needed new talent to our football wAs seen last night.
