Must win game for us says Joel

Male’, MALDIVES – Philippines UFL Cup champions Kaya FC’s head coach Joel Villarino has said that the match against New Radiant in the AFC Cup Group F is a must win game for his team to qualify for the second round of the tournament.

“It will be an important game for us and I will say a must win game for us to qualify for the second round as we wouldn't know the result of the match between Kitchee and Blestier Kalsa FC when we face New Radiant so we will fight for a win.” Joel said.

He also said that the win against New Radiant in the first leg was a lucky one and things will be different tomorrow.

“We are fully prepared for this game based on the performance of our first leg with New Radiant. And it was a lucky win for us so we have to be careful tomorrow.”

“The pressure is definitely on us and new radiant doesn't have any pressure.” Joel added.

On the other hand New Radiant coach Iordan Stoykov said every game is different and a defensive mistake cost them the first leg.

“We played very well in the first leg and one defensive mistake costs us the game. So we have to be very careful tomorrow. But every game is different and things will go different tomorrow, so we will see what will happen.”

Stoykov also reiterated that the pressure is on the visiting team but they will fight for a win.

“They must win the game tomorrow to qualify for the second round and they have pressure but of course I believe that we can win the game.”

“It’s always good to win the game rather than losing it so we will fight for a win tomorrow.” Stoykov said in the pre match press conference held at National Football Stadium this evening.

New Radiant will play against Kaya FC tomorrow at 1600 hours at National Football Stadium.
