FAM XI beat Matara FC

Ahmed Ishan (10) scored twice against Matara Football Club today.

Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives (FAM) XI won the friendly match played on the turf pitch against Sri Lanka’s Matara Football Club by 2-0 today.

FAM’s XI includes the players of Under 16 and Under 19 national team. In today’s match they included 5 players of U19 and used two players during the match.

After the half hour mark Ahmed Ishan broke the deadlock and in the second half he scored another.

Sri Lanka’s Matara Football Club, who are on a tour to play two friendly games against Maldives young teams will play their second match tomorrow at 1600 hours at turf pitch.

Need to give such exposure to our youngsters. Also frequent media coverage on our young hopefuls is needed as well. From a young age they should learn that it is an honor and privilege to represent the country. Fly high and make us proud young team.
