Financial investments is needed to develop football: Xavi

Male', MALDIVES - Spanish legend Xavi Hernandez believes that a concrete plan and financial investments are required for Maldives to develop football.

"Talent is all over the world in different countries. Of course in smaller countries it can be difficult," Xavi said in a press session with the local media last night. "If the talent is there and the country's

Xavi, who currently plays for Qatari side Al Sadd is visiting Maldives as a special guest for the exhibition match played between Maldives National team and SAFF Winners 2008 team.

Financial investments with a CONCRETE PLAN, as Xavi said. There's no use of throwing money around if there's no end product. Remember last years Minivan 50 Championship, where heavy investments were made, but none of the clubs or players got the chance to play in the 3rd Division or Peoples Cup, as FAM then promised?
