Are we the only country in the world where its most important sports body is unable to put the house in order on its  own to the extent it becomes a farce to the watching FIFA, who had no option but to intervene? What to do,  this is what happens when you have people chosen to wear a shoe too big for them and their egos are so huge you will need a crane. So sad.

What can we say, we Maldivians are just unique! The fact that FIFA, a thoroughly corrupt organisation, saw through the absolute ineptness of Ilham and his cronies speaks volumes of the state of our football at this moment of time. It's going to take a long time to heal the wounds and I hope the NC takes all appropriate measures to do so instead of hand-picking the old crowd again. Personally I would like to see progressive characters like Ali Waheed, former Maziya Head Coach Ismail Mahfooz etc. getting the chance to really drive FAM forward. Time to take our football to the 21st century, as Ilham and his predecessor Ali Azim have dragged us back to 1997.

yes please no more Maattey or Suzain. We saw them in positions of power before and know that they are incapable of performing their duties. Not knowledgeble or motivated enough. Maattey spent more time flying to and from Malaysia and Suzain had no clue what being the director of national teams was. He thought it meant arranging training camp in thailand 1 week before the saff championship.
