New Radiant players with the President's Cup trophy last year. They have added another two foreign players to their squad

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant has added two more foreign players, the final two in the allocated four slots, to their squad for the upcoming season.

This time the club confirmed the additions are Patrick Sunday's Okoro, a Nigerian Defensive Midfielder, and Alisher Akhmedov, an Uzbekistan Goal Keeper.

Both the players are expected to join the club trainings this week. Earlier the club has added former Liverpool youth team player David Moli and Slovakian attacking midfielder Viliam Macko.

New Radiant is gearing up for the AFC Cup 2015 where they are drawn against Persib Bandung of Indonesia, Ayeyewady United of Myanmar and Lao Toyota of Laos.

New Radiant is the only local club to have gone past the group stage of AFC Cup. They have achieved the feat twice in 2005 and 2013.

Nothing to say about blues transfer activity. Hopefully these players will be a step-up from the guys who played People's Cup. But i have my doubt about the coach. We found him tactically confused in People's Cup as they were beaten match after match, not willing to make the necessary sustituion even while Umair was mere shadow of himself.  If he was tactically as astute as we were expected to believe with the first loss he should have made the changes. But we found a hassled coach caught in uncertainly as what to do with his team's play getting worse, like a cat caught in the headlight of a car.

i would like to state that shifan is no longer the player he was and yes i know he was one of the best defensive minded players to play for us but he has been past his best for like 2 years and still we play him on first eleven. true he plays for the clubs badge and we appreciate it. we wont forget the victories he helped newradiant get. but i think its time for him to call it a day and let shafy, lily combination work. we could see clearly that shifan was more of a liability in the past few seasons but every coach is forced to play in respect to him (which he deserves). akram can be our gerrad with up and down runs and powerful shots from midfield. riley and hockey on full backs. new foriegn two midfielders with akram in the centre, centey and hampu in the wings and the english forward upfront.

Akram needs to get back in shape first to become the new Gerrard. He is a very technically gifted footballer but has never been that athletic. Now with all the extra weight, he is just too slow. It's a shame really, because if he took better care of himself he could be one of the best Maldivian players ever. Instead, he wasn't even good enough to start matches in the AFC Challenge Cup. I hope he sheds a few kilos and displays his true talents again.
