Lanka to assist in lighting project

Male’, MALDIVES – Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has said that the Sri Lankan government will be helping the Maldives to finish the lighting system of Addu City Zone Stadium, which is renovating for the upcoming AFC Challenge Cup.

Speaking to maldivesoccer.com today, Maleeh said that they are very hopeful that they can finish the work on time with the help of Sri Lankan government.

“I am very hopeful that we can finish the project within the time frame. Sri Lankan government is going to help us to finish the lighting project soon.”

“A high level delegation from Sports Ministry will be travelling to Sri Lanka on Sunday night to meet with the counter parts in Sri Lanka to discuss the project.”

Previously Tender Evaluation Board has announced twice to find a contractor to finish the lighting project but no party showed interest on this.

AFC Challenge Cup is scheduled to play in the Maldives from 19th – 30th May.
