Maziya 4-0 Victory: Easy win for Maziya

Male', MALDIVES - A hatrick from National team striker Assadulla Abdulla helped Maziya sports and recreation ease pass Victory Sports club in todays match of Dhiraagu Dhivehi league.

Assadulla opened the scoring in the 4th minute, neatly lobbing the ball over Victory’s goalkeeper Fairooz from the edge of the penalty box.

After an uneventful first half, the game burst to life in the second half as Victory gave pressure to Maziya as the searched for an equalizer. Victory’s lively winger Shanoon flashed a shot wide early in the second half. It was followed by a dangerous header from Victory’s Shimaz which was brilliantly saved bu Maziya’s goalkeeper Mohamed Imran.

Maziya doubled their lead in the 61st minute as Assadulla took an excellent through ball from Ahmed Mohamed, and blasted a fierce shot past goalkeeper Fairooz.

Maziya’s captain Ahmed Rasheed scored in the 77th minute to give Maziya a three goal lead. Ismail Easa’s ball in to the box from a free kick was headed across the goal by substitute Bulgarian forward Rumen, and Ahmed Rasheed followed for an easy tap in.

Assadulla grabbed his hat rick in the 82nd minute slotting the ball in from close range. Rumen, who transferred to Maziya from Valencia a few days ago, was again the supplier as he headed the ball into Assadulla’s path.

Victory ended the game with 10 men as captain Sobah was given the marching orders in stoppage time. Sobah brought down Nashid and being last defender refree had no choice but to send him off.

Second place Maziya has now moved to 24 points. Victory are 7th place with 11 points. As two games are left for Victory chances of avoiding the relegation battle are looking slim for the former champions.
