Valencia 2-2 Eagles: Eagles avoids relegation

Male’, MALDIVES – Club Eagles has avoided the relegation after a 2-2 draw against Club Valencia in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.

Valencia strengthened their squad started the campaign with high hopes but now key three players have left the club since the mid season transfer starts.

Valencia created the first chance in the 5th minute of the game, when Shaheem gave a good ball to Zamath but his powerless shot inside the box went straight to the keeper.

Eagles started to dominate the game after the first 15 minutes and in the 25th minute, Thasmeen control the ball inside the box but Valencia players cleared the ball from the danger zone. It was too late for him to make a shot from it.

Six minutes before the break Thasmeen penetrated the defense line and tried to make a shot inside the box but Valencia’s skipper Assad cleared it.

Eagles broke the deadlock just a minute before the break from a descent header from Ismail Shafeeu. Yamin supplied a good ball into the box from a free kick and Ismail's header went straight to the top right corner of the goal.

Eagles doubled the lead in the 59th minute after a descent play from Imaz. Ismail Shafeeu gave a good through pass to Imaz and he beat keeper Faisal and scored.

Four minutes later Imaz penetrated the defense line and made a good shot inside the box but keeper Faisal saved it.

Valencia came back to the game in the 71st minute when referee awarded a penalty kick to them for a foul suffered by skipper Assad. Ibrahim Hamdhaan converted the spot kick.

Eight minutes later, Valencia Ali Shareef leveled the game. Hamdhaan heads the free kick from Assad and it went straight to Ali Shareef, who was unmarked inside the box heads, it into the goal.
