Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national team captain Ali Ashfaq has joined the team practices yesterday after the release from Malaysian premier league club, PDRM FA.

Ashfaq joined the practices after returning from Malaysia last Sunday night. National team has released the players from Maziya and New Radiant for the AFC Cup games in the group stages this week.

Meanwhile, coach Drago Mamic has reduced six players from the squad and they were, New Radiant’s Mukhuthar Naseer, Ahmed Niyaz, Ali Samdhooh, Faruhadh Ismail, Moosa Yamin from Maziya and Ismail Easa from Eagles.

The 26 player’s squad will depart to Bangkok for the training camp later this week.

Maldives lies on group A along with Palestine, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar.
