Eagles beats Victory

Male’, MALDIVES – Club Eagles defeated Victory Sports Club by 2-0 today in the ongoing ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League. Ahmed Rasheed and young striker Ansar Ibrahim scored the goals for Eagles.

Eagles created a good goal scoring opportunity in the 5th minute from a wonderful shot inside the box when went over the bar.

Victory was forced to substitute Bahajath after an injury before the half time. Neither teams managed to create a good gal scoring opportunity in the first half.

Eagles’ Ahmed Rasheed broke the deadlock in the 47th minute from a good shot inside the box. Victory players blocked Abu’s attempt and Ahmed Rasheed managed to put the ball into the net from the rebounded ball.

In the 59th minute Ansar Ibrahim doubled the lead from a wonderful shot inside the six yard box. Mubeen supplied the ball after a good solo effort.

In the 83rd minute Rizuwan beat a defender from Victory and made a good shot inside the box but went wide.

With this win Club Eagles got 17 points from 11 games while league leaders New Radiant got 26 points from 11 games.

Second placed Maziya will face Mahibadhoo tonight at 2100 hours at National Football Stadium.
