FAM President Ilham Ahmed, Exco rules out the no confidence motion against him today.

Male’, MALDIVES – The executive committee of Football Association of Maldives has decided that the request from Club Eagles about the no confidence motion against FAM President and Vice President will not be added into the agenda of the FAM Congress to be held on 25th September this year.

Speaking to maldivesoccer.com a member of the executive committee said that in today’s meeting 4 members of the ExCo voted against it and two members voted to add that on the agenda.

“Four members voted against it and two members voted to include it in the agenda while the president didn’t participate in the voting.”

Eagles submitted the no confidence motion against the heads of the ruling body of Maldivian football on 9th July this year.

In the letter submitted by Club Eagles along with the signatures of 19 clubs said the governing body of Maldivian football is currently running against the Articles of Association of the body. It also said that they didn’t have any congress after the election of January last year.

If 2/3 of the members requested an item to be added in the agenda of the congress, FAM must do so and if they refused the members can seek assistance from FIFA.
