Maldives will play against Myanmar in the first match of AFC Challenge Cup

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national team’s assistant coach Ali Nashid (Ayya) has said that the first game against Myanmar in the AFC Challenge Cup is very important to succeed in the tournament.

After the official draw ceremony in Paradise Island Resort and Spa, Ayya said to maldivesoccer.com that both the groups are tough and they need to concentrate on the game against Myanmar from today.

“Both groups and every game is tough but from now onwards we need to concentrate on Myanmar in our first game.”

“If we win against Myanmar we can get a good result in this tournament.”

In the draw Maldives lies in the group A along with Palestine, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar. Ggroup B includes Turkmenistan, Philippines, Afghanistan and Laos.

The tournament will be held on Maldives from 19 – 30th May this year. Group A matches will be playing at the National Stadium in Male’ and the matches of group B will be playing at the Zone Stadium, Addu City.
