Mohan into history

Male, MALDIVES – After lifting Dhiraagu Dhivehi League 2012, New Radiant Sports Club’s coach Mohammed Shiyaz (Mohan) became the first Maldivian Coach to lift the league title with an unbeaten record.

After winning their last game against Maziya last night by 2 - 1, New Radiant Sports Clubs Head Coach

Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) said that the historic win for his club made him proud of his boys and described the match as one of the best matches of his side.

Speaking after the match, Mohan said that his side performed well especially with the absence of key players. Ali Ashfag, and Ahmed Niyaz and Ahmed Abdulla (Lily) didn’t play against Maziya while, Ivan and Ali Umar was substituted.

“It was among the best matches I guess. Youngsters did a good job”.

New Radiant finished the league with 49 points from 19 games and scored 48 goals while they conceded only nine goals. They had 10 clean sheets as well. Almost a half of the teams goals were scored by Ali Ashfag.
