Male’, MALDIVES – In an exclusive interview to maldivesoccer.com, VB Addu FC coach, Vanli has said that the club has yet to pay him 7 months’ salary for his services. However, VB management has denied the accusations and said that VB has never delayed any payments to any of their players or the coaching staff.

Vanli was sacked by VB Addu FC following a disastrous season. Last year’s champion, VB finished Dhiraagu Dhivehi League in the fourth place.

“They still have to pay me seven month’s salary. This year four months, last year 3 months they have not.”

“If they want to save money by firing me they can say it, but not for the reasons they have said. This is not fair. If they have problems with me, they have to tell me.”

But he did not want to go into more details with it. Coach further added that there was no verbal communication between the club board and himself.

“There was no notification regarding the performance of the club. I’ve called the president several times and I have sent dozen of emails to him regarding the club throughout the season. But no reply to any of it. I have to communicate with the manager and he speaks with the management. I don’t know whether he communicates what I say to the management or whether he uses his own words. The management also doesn’t know anything about it either”

“The management has not fulfilled anything they have promised. They said they want to send us to training programs. No nothing. They promised Umrah for the team, but nothing. Imagine how the players will feel about it”

Meanwhile, VB manager, Satho denied the claims by the coach and said that VB Addu FC will not have any due payments to the coach.

“We have given the salary to the coach regularly. There will not be any due payments. A lot of players have played for the club. There was not a single occasion where they have been delays in salaries”

“If he feels there is injustice, he can go to FIFA and put forward his case”

“He has served the team for three years. The management decided to fire him because of the poor performance. I don’t agree with his comments that we did not have a squad. We had the best players in the league apart from Ashfaaq. We had Shamveel (Bonda), Ashad Ali (Adubarey), Farhaad, Fairooz, Ismail and Jameel. They are national team players.”

“Ali Umar and Oittey did not perform at the level at which they are playing in New Radiant when they were with us. We have to realize those”
