Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club coach, Mohammed Shiyaz (Mohan) has replied to the comments made by Victory’s coach Suzain regarding beating New Radiant in three consecutive finals. Mohan said that either one of the teams would suffer three consecutive losses after the final whistle of the president's cup final.

“It’s us or them. One of the teams would suffer three consecutive losses. We don’t care about the statistics. We want to play well in the game and win the cup. That’s our focus”

Mohan added that he is very happy that he would be able to select the first eleven from the full squad.

“Everyone is fit. We had some worries regarding the fitness of Ivan and Ali Umar. But after today’s practice, I feel they are fit to start the game”

“That’s a huge relief for us. Now we have the full squad for selection”

Mohan noted that Victory would be facing huge difficulty in recovering from the three matches they played in 10 days.

“We have to wait and see how Victory has managed to overcome tiredness. It would be very difficult to recover after playing 3 matches in 10 days. But we have to wait and see. We had that problem last year during the president’s cup and this time we didn’t want to follow that path again.”

“We had 7 days rest and that was a good time gap for us because some of our players were injured and it was good period for them to recover”

The finals of the president’s cup will be played tomorrow at 1550hrs.
